AAU Training Camp

This camp was Awesome. Our three teams going to AAU Nationals learned a lot, built some great team chemistry, and played hard. The girls worked as hard on the last day as they did on the first day. Thank you for everyone who made this camp run so well. The planning and time put into this event showed because it went off with out a hitch. We are all excited to go and compete in Florida. Wish us Luck.

Here is where I learned my love for the game. Many have been asking for places to play over the summer. Here are links to some of the tournament series that I know of. Cameo would be the best person to talk to. She is still in the circuit playing professionally.

DVA Showcase at GMC

I want to thank everyone for all their help with this event. The event could have not gone any better than it did. We got a lot of good feedback from the college coaches that attended the event. All the hard work our girls have put in showed this past Sunday. I was very proud to wear the DVA logo and happy to see all the hard work everyone has put it turn out to make for a great event. A shout has to go out to Tom Wieckecki for pulling an all nighter to make sure all the recruit material was ready for Sunday. Our coaching staff did a great job of keeping the kids moving.

Again, thank you everyone for all your time and hard work you put into this event. We could not have done it without you. I hope you are as proud of our girls as I am.

Keep up the Great Work.

MAPL Event # 2

Here is Frank (a.k.a. Miss Daisy) sleeping on the job.

The MAPL event was a good way for you 18's team to get ready for Indy. The first pool we went 2-0. We beat a good Metro 17's team and a young and upcoming NC Elite 16's team. Our second pool of the day we beat RVC 17's in 3 games and then lost to VA Elite 16's in 3. During the match one of our better hitters rolled her ankle. Then RVC beat VA Elite's 16's in 3 games. So with a three way tie, RVC got first because of points and we got to play VA elite's 16's in a one game 25 point playoff. Needless to say we lost in a close game. This put us in the bronze divison. We were down a couple players for the weekend, though we still made a good showing at the event. Some of our players also got some looks by college coaches. Jen M. and Julie W. did a very nice job of setting for us this weekend. I am excited for Indy and know that are girls will be ready to play and will do well. Hope everyone got back safe with the snow. I will see everyone this week at practice.

Murphy

For those of you who do not know, I own a Chocolate Lab. I take a hike or long with him just about everyday. I have done agility, dock diving, and several levels of obeince class with Murphy. Murphy helps keep me in shape and definitely helps me release stress. I would like to introduce him as the Club Mascot. Take a look for yourself and tell me how you could not love a face like that.

Friday Night Clinics

We are thinking about doing friday clinics at the Walnut street YMCA. The cost would be $10 per person. We would like to do the clinic for 1 1/2 hours. Maybe something like 6:00 - 7:30. Let me know what you think.
